⏱️ ~30 min 🧺 2 min setup · art· movement

🧺 Materials

  • paper
  • crayons or markers
  • tape
  • optional: a small basket or bowl

📋 Instructions (parent)

  1. Cut out a few simple paper hearts together (rough shapes are perfect).
  2. Walk around the house and have your child find things they are grateful for: family, food, a toy, a pet.
  3. For each one, say 'gracias por...' together and tape a heart near that thing or draw it on a heart.
  4. Talk about how saying thank you and being kind makes our hearts feel warm, connecting it to caring for others.
  5. Finish by choosing one kind act to do right now: a hug, a thank-you to a family member, or helping with a small chore.
  6. Cheer the kind act with a big 'gracias' and a smile.

➕ Extension ideas

  • Start a 'gratitude jar' where you add a heart each night naming one thing you were thankful for that day.
  • Say a short thank-you prayer together at dinner, naming one thing each person is grateful for.
