Objective: Child compares and describes amounts (more, less, full, empty) while measuring ingredients in Spanish.

🧺 Materials

  • measuring cups and spoons
  • flour, sugar, or other baking ingredients on hand
  • mixing bowl

📋 Instructions (parent)

  1. Set out the measuring cups and the bowl on the counter.
  2. Let your child scoop and pour one ingredient, naming it in Spanish.
  3. Talk about whether the cup is lleno (full) or vacío (empty) as they fill it.
  4. Compare two amounts and ask which is más (more) or menos (less).
  5. Have your child stir and count the stirs in Spanish.

➕ Extension ideas

  • Predict which will be heavier, a cup of flour or a cup of sugar, then feel both.
  • Line up the cups from smallest to biggest and name the order in Spanish.
