Objective: Develop gross motor coordination by moving over, under, and around obstacles while following Spanish position words.

⏱️ ~30 min 🧺 5 min setup · movement· building

🧺 Materials

  • couch cushions
  • kitchen chairs
  • a blanket
  • masking tape
  • a broom

📋 Instructions (parent)

  1. Spread cushions on the floor as stepping stones and place a chair to crawl under.
  2. Drape a blanket between two chairs to make a tunnel.
  3. Lay a broom on the floor to jump over and use tape to mark a finish line.
  4. Call out one Spanish position word at a time (salta, gatea, camina) and cheer as your child completes each station.
  5. Time each run and try to beat it together.

➕ Extension ideas

  • Add a number at each station so your child counts aloud in Spanish as they pass.
  • Let your child redesign the course and explain the route to you in Spanish.
