🔢 3D Block Towers and Pattern Train
Torres de cuerpos y el tren de patrones
🔢 Math & Numbers
K.G.3K.G.4WL.K.1
Objective: Explore 3D shapes and create and extend AB and ABB patterns with objects.
🧺 Materials
- blocks, balls, or boxes of different shapes
- small everyday objects for a pattern
📋 Instructions (parent)
- Explore 3D shapes: stack a cubo (cube), roll an esfera (sphere), and find a cilindro (cylinder).
- Talk about which shapes can roll and which can stack, in Spanish.
- Make a 'tren de patrones' on the floor, like spoon-cup-spoon-cup (AB).
- Say the pattern out loud and clap the rhythm: 'cuchara, taza, cuchara, taza'.
- Try a harder ABB pattern like cup-spoon-spoon and have your child add the next pieces.
- Let your child invent their own pattern for you to continue.
➕ Extension ideas
- Make a movement pattern: jump-clap-jump-clap and name it in Spanish.
- Sort the 3D shapes into a 'ruedan' pile and an 'se apilan' pile.
