Objective: Sort and classify objects into groups by a chosen attribute like color or size.

🧺 Materials

  • a basket of clean socks or laundry
  • the floor

📋 Instructions (parent)

  1. Dump the socks in a pile in the middle of the floor.
  2. Pick one attribute together, like color, and name a group for each color in Spanish.
  3. Sort every sock into its color group.
  4. Count how many are in each pile in Spanish and compare which group has more.
  5. Re-sort the same socks a new way, like big and small ('grandes y pequeños').

➕ Extension ideas

  • Sort silverware into spoons and forks while putting away dishes.
  • Make a sorting hunt: find three things that are rojo around the house.
