Objective: Compare objects by length and weight using directly comparing language.
🧺 Materials
- a few household objects of different sizes
- a piece of yarn or ribbon
📋 Instructions (parent)
- Gather 4 to 6 objects from around the house.
- Lay two objects side by side and ask which is 'más largo' (longer) and which is 'más corto' (shorter).
- Hold one in each hand and decide which is 'más pesado' (heavier) and which is 'más ligero' (lighter).
- Use the yarn to measure: is the object longer or shorter than the yarn?
- Line everything up from shortest to longest and name the order in Spanish.
➕ Extension ideas
- Measure how many blocks long the couch is and count them in Spanish.
- Make a simple balance with a hanger and two cups to compare weight.
