Objective: Add two small groups of objects within 10 and count the total.
🧺 Materials
- small crackers or cereal pieces
- a paper plate
📋 Instructions (parent)
- Put two crackers on one side of the plate and say 'dos'.
- Add three more on the other side and say 'tres'.
- Slide both groups together and count all of them out loud in Spanish.
- Say the whole math story: 'dos más tres son cinco'.
- Let your child pick new little numbers and feed the 'machine', then eat the answer!
➕ Extension ideas
- Use a muffin tin and roll a die for each side to add bigger groups.
- Draw the two groups and a big plus sign on paper before counting.
