Objective: Add two small groups of objects within 10 and count the total.

🧺 Materials

  • small crackers or cereal pieces
  • a paper plate

📋 Instructions (parent)

  1. Put two crackers on one side of the plate and say 'dos'.
  2. Add three more on the other side and say 'tres'.
  3. Slide both groups together and count all of them out loud in Spanish.
  4. Say the whole math story: 'dos más tres son cinco'.
  5. Let your child pick new little numbers and feed the 'machine', then eat the answer!

➕ Extension ideas

  • Use a muffin tin and roll a die for each side to add bigger groups.
  • Draw the two groups and a big plus sign on paper before counting.
