Objective: Invent a make-believe story together by pulling surprise objects from a box and weaving them into a tale.

⏱️ ~30 min 🧺 3 min setup · pretend

🧺 Materials

  • a box or bag
  • 3-5 small random household objects (toy, spoon, sock, ball)

📋 Instructions (parent)

  1. Secretly fill a box with a few small objects so they are a surprise.
  2. Have your child reach in and pull out one object without looking.
  3. Start a story in Spanish using that object as the first part, then pause.
  4. Let your child pull the next object and add what happens next to the story.
  5. Keep taking turns adding to the story until the box is empty, then say 'the end' together.
  6. Retell the whole silly story from the beginning together.

➕ Extension ideas

  • Draw a picture of the favorite part of your invented story.
  • Act out the story with the objects as the characters.
