🧺 Materials

None needed — just the two of you.

📋 Instructions (parent)

  1. Ask your child to name any animal they can think of (say it in Spanish together).
  2. Have them stretch out the very first sound of the animal's name, like 'g-g-gato'.
  3. Ask what letter makes that first sound, then trace the letter in the air with a finger 'paintbrush'.
  4. Take turns: you say an animal, they catch the first sound, then they say one for you.
  5. For a bonus, have them draw the letter in the air big and small, fast and slow.

➕ Extension ideas

  • Name only fall animals (owl, squirrel, bear) and clap once for each sound you hear.
  • Draw one of the animals with an invisible finger and guess what the other drew.

Just do three animals: say the word, catch the first sound, name the letter.

🚗 Car version

Play out loud in the car—no drawing, just say animals and their first sounds back and forth.

😴 No-energy version

Snuggle up and only listen: you say animal names slowly and your child whispers the first sound.
